Swollen Guns Occurs Due To Inadequate Dental And Oral Health
Swollen gums can also accelerate gum loss. Gum disease can also cause your teeth to decay. There is some correlation in the saying ‘getting long in the tooth’ with the associated wear and tear of age. However premature gum loss is normally caused by using a hard bristled toothbrush in combination with an improper ‘scrubbing’ toothbrush technique. Most common in adults, it starts when plaque, containing bacteria, builds up on the teeth and gums. When the plaque is not removed daily, it produces toxins that irritate the gums. Eventually these toxins destroy the gum tissues, causing them to separate from the tooth (recede) and form spaces called pockets. The swelling of the gums is not a disease in itself; however it can be a symptom of an underlying ailment. Swollen gums occur due to the lack of dental and oral hygiene.
